SQUARE TOWER BUILDING WORKS: ALMOST FINISHED!

Yes: The building work has nearly finished!

The big scaffolding and roof that has dominated the outside of the Tower this year has finally gone and has been replaced by one small scaffolding section by the sea-walls.

The large compound the builders used to store their materials has been repositioned further from the Tower and has been made smaller.

The stone masons are now finishing the stone floor on the roof; and it looks absolutely stunning already...

If anyone has any concerns, questions or worries about the work, please call me Steve Hender on the main phone number 07519 505785 or email me on steve@squaretower.co.uk

MEDIEVAL WEDDING MUSIC

If you are viewing this site using the Internet Explorer or Chrome browser and you have sound enabled, then you will here some music playing.
This piece titled Medieval Wedding was composed by local musician Andrew Payne for a wedding ceremony at the Square Tower. It perfectly compliments the historical period of the towers construction and was a beautiful addition to the wedding ceremony.

"BEST HAMPSHIRE WEDDING VENUES"

The Square Tower team is always proud to host weddings within it's historic, atmospheric walls, but Pete H believes it is the best wedding venue in Hampshire! You can read his review and others on Trip Advisor. Thanks Pete.

Built in 1494 during the reign of Henry VII, the Square Tower has had a varied history, it was designed as part of the fortifications to protect the rapidly expanding Naval Port.

The tower was also used as the home of the Governor of Portsmouth, a semaphore signalling tower, a provisions store for the Royal Navy and as a gunpowder store.
